1. 中英友好关系迈上“新台阶”

　　Although my visit has just started, I am already deeply impressed by the vitality of China-UK relations and the profound friendship between our peoples. This gives me good reasons to believe that my visit will lift the bilateral ties to "a new height."

　　今天，是我应伊丽莎白二世女王邀请对英国进行国事访问的第一天。虽然是刚刚来到，我已经深切感受到中英关系的蓬勃朝气，体会到两国人民的深厚情谊。我对通过这次访问推动中英友好关系迈上新台阶。

　　2. “穿越时空”的感觉

　　Being here in the old parliament building gives me the feeling that going back in time.

　　此时此刻，置身议会大厦让人产生了“穿越时空”的感觉。

　　3. 两国关系创下了多项“第一”

　　Although China and the UK are located at opposite ends of the Eurasian continent, we have a long shared deep mutual affection. Since the founding of New China in 1949, China and Britain have made lots of first achievements in their bilateral relations.

　　中英虽然地处亚欧两端，却长期彼此吸引。新中国成立以来，两国关系创下了多项“第一”。

　　4. 民惟邦本，本固邦宁

　　In China, the concept ofputting people first and following the rule of law emerged in the ancient times.

　　在中国，民本和法制思想自古有之，几千年前就有“民惟邦本，本固邦宁”的说法。

　　5. 利益共同体

　　It is fair to say that China and Britain are increasingly interdependent and becoming a community of shared interests.

　　中英越来越成为你中有我、我中有你的利益共同体。

　　6. 诺曼底登陆战役

　　24 Chinese naval cadets took part in theNormandy landings during World War II and received personal thanks from Winston Churchill for their gallantry.

　　第二次世界大战期间，24名中国海军学员参加了诺曼底登陆战役，他们不畏艰险，英勇善战，受到丘吉尔首相嘉奖。

　　7. 凡是过去，皆为序章。

　　Shakespeare wrote: What's past, is prologue.

　　莎士比亚说：“凡是过去，皆为序章。”

　　8. 山不厌高，海不厌深

　　As a Chinese saying goes, a moutain can never be too high or an ocean too deep.

　　山不厌高，海不厌深。

　　9. 铺设理解之路、架起合作之桥

　　I hope that you will build a bridge of understanding and cooperation so as to help create an even brighter and more promising future of our bilateral ties.

　　希望各位议员为中英关系更广阔、更光明的未来铺设理解之路、架起合作之桥。

　　10. 机不可失，失不再来

　　Francis Bacon wrote, "Wise men make more opportunities than they finds." And we in China often say, "An opportunity miss is an opportunity lost."

　　培根说过：“智者创造机会而不是等待机会”，中国也有句名言“机不可失，失不再来”。
