　　这首英文小诗阐述了精益求精，从优秀走向卓越的人生态度。那么，在托福写作中如何将偏口语的better变得更书面化呢?我们一起来看下面的例子：

　　【例】The new version is vastly superior to the old one.

　　新版本比旧版本要好得多。

　　其实这里的superior to就是better than的意思，只不过更加书面化，而且大部分考生不会这么用。如果我们选择了这样的表达，能立即抓住考官的眼球。此外，superior to的反义词是inferior to，相当于worse than。来看一个句子：

　　【例】This design is inferior to the one the German company proposed.

　　这个设计不如德国公司推荐的好。

　　再看两个句子：

　　【例】For all babies, breast-feeding is far superior to bottle-feeding.

　　对所有婴儿来说，母乳喂养远比人工喂养好。

　　【例】These products are inferior to those we bought last year.

　　这些产品比我们去年买的差。

　　总结一下：

　　better than可升级为superior to

　　worse than可升级为inferior to
